Ingredients you will need
- Peanut Butter: we like to use Jiffy Peanut Butter (the smooth version) but if you want a little bit of extra crunch go ahead and use your favorite type of peanut butter.
- Oatmeal: You will want to use Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, we find that the instant/one-minute oatmeal doesn’t work as well in a cookie.
- Mini Chocolate Chips: We think these Monster Cookies taste best with Mini Chocolate Chips but regular Chocolate Chips will be fine if that is all that you have.
- M&M’s: Crunchy, chocolately and colorful M&M’s are the fun mix-in that really makes these cookies stand out next to a glass of milk.

The best cookie! I used almond butter instead of peanut butter. Family members are allergic to peanuts. Everyone raved about them. They will be added to my favorites!
When I baked these cookies yesterday, I left out the M&M’s and they are delicious! However, I baked them for 14 minutes. Every oven is different, I guess? They were slightly brown around the edges and soft and chewy on the inside like you said they are. Thank you for the recipes!
Delicious! Couldn’t wait to make these. I made them for the neighbors and they asked for the recipe. Love the peanut butter and the mini m&m’s. So colorful and pretty. I shaped the dough into balls and refrigerated overnight and made them the next morning. Great recipe! A keeper
These look delicious! The neighbors, and my co workers will love them. Going to make them for my family this coming weekend. I don’t ever post a comment until I make them, but I’ve been baking for 40 years and this recipe has all the makings of something wonderful. Love your recipes!!!
These look totally amazing! Could I substitute almond butter for the PB? If so, do I stick with 1/2 cup of it? My son is allergic to PB, so I’d need to either omit or make the switch. (I might make a batch with PB just for me!! YUM). Can’t wait to make these with my kids!
Have you ever made these with oats that you’ve run through the blender or food processor to chop them up?
I’ve made chocolate chip cookies with that method and they came out great but I know each recipe is different. Especially with the peanut butter in this one, I’m not sure if that would mess with the texture in a bad way?
Just made the Monster cookies. I got 4 dozen so I made them too small, but they are delicious. Chewy and full of flavor. Very easy to make…I am finished in 1 hour (except for washing the dishes). 5 stars!
