It is the perfect way to bring even more joy to your S’mores experience. And it’s a great choice for parties, backyard barbecues, or even just a cozy night in. And the best part? It’s so easy to make!  So grab the marshmallows, and let’s get ready for S’mores!

What Marshmallows to Include

Marshmallows are the star ingredient of the show! To add some visual interest to your board, we recommend choosing marshmallows in different sizes (and even colors.)You can also try different flavors, like vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. We went with regular-sized Marshmallows and the special Kraft S’more Marshmallows.

What Cookies to Include

Next, you’ll need to choose your cookies. Traditional graham crackers are the classic option, and you’ll need plenty of those. But experiment with other options for your outside-the-smore-box guests. Different flavored cookies like chocolate chip or oatmeal would be fun. And everyone loves an Oreo.

What Sauces to Include

For a little something extra, include some sauces so your guests can experiment with different flavor combinations. Classic chocolate and caramel sauces taste great pressed into a S’more. Some other fun options are peanut butter or a fruit spread. You can also include other types of sauces like marshmallow creme, butterscotch, or hazelnut spread. Make sure to include small serving spoons to make it easy for guests to scoop out their desired amount.

What Chocolate to Include

Chocolate is what marries the graham cracker and marshmallow together creating that iconic S’more flavor so get creative with your chocolate bars and offer different flavors such as dark, milk, and even white chocolate. The only must-have is a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bar, purists will definitely want this chocolate to be the star of their S’more. But let your imagination run wild for your other options. We included Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Andes Mints along with the more traditional options. Consider pre-breaking the chocolate bars into smaller pieces to make them easier for your guests to grab.

Putting It All Together

The first step in creating your s’mores charcuterie board is choosing the right board. We recommend using a large wooden cutting board or a platter. If you don’t have a wooden board, any large serving tray will work as well. Make sure the board is large enough to hold all of your ingredients, yet small enough to fit on a table or countertop.

Now grab your S’mores ingredients, it’s time to assemble your board! Start by placing the marshmallows on the board. You’ll need more marshmallows than any other item because this is the one thing that all of your guests will include in their S’mores. Then fill in the gaps with the cookies, chocolate, and sauces. Don’t be afraid to mix things up. You can create height and visual interest with stacks of cookies or add some fresh fruit to brighten up the board.

Making the S’mores

It’s S’more Time! Start by roasting a marshmallow over an open flame until it’s golden brown and gooey on the inside. Next, place the roasted marshmallow on top of a cookie and top it with a piece of chocolate and a drizzle of one of the sauces if you’d like. Sandwich the marshmallow and chocolate with another cookie and gently press down to create the perfect melt-in-your-mouth dessert. No two S’mores your guests make from your dessert board will be the same. Super fun and super yummy!
