Vintage Family Photo Collages

Over the years I have become the keeper of all of our vintage family photos.  We have all of are our childhood photos as well as photos of our Mother when she was growing up. The photos we inherited from our Great-Grandmother are from as far back as the mid-1800’s.  I love to look through them.   I love to sort them.  I love how they bring back so many wonderful memories of family members that are no longer with us.  I also love to find groupings of related photos from throughout the years and create vintage family photo collages.  These photo collages make amazing gifts – and we are featuring these Vintage Family Photos here as a great Mother’s Day Gift Idea.

The first Vintage Family Photo Collage features photos of my Grandmother, my Mother and I – all riding ponies when we were little kids.  Sadly, there isn’t a picture of Nancy riding a pony which is something she is very bitter about to this day.  So Pro Mom Tip:  make sure to take the same pictures for ALL of your children or they will hold a grudge when they are an adult 🙂

The second Family Photo Collage is something I made for Nancy.   I call it Mother’s and Daughters.  It features pictures of the women in my family holding their baby daughters: my great-grandmother holding my grandmother, my grandmother holding my mother and my mother holding my sister.  This photo collage is a real conversation starter for visitors to Nancy’s house.  And it was a great present that Nancy really loved (even though it made her cry!)

So if you are looking for a great Mother’s Day Gift Idea – get out your old family photos, your scanner and your inkjet printer and make one of these Vintage Family Photo Collages.  It will be a much-loved and treasured gift – I promise!
