Ingredients for Minnesota Vikings Pretzel Bites

You only need these four ingredients to make these delicious sweet and salty Minnesota Vikings Pretzel Bites.  We’ve made many a pretzel bite with Hershey Kiss or a Candy Melt but this time we are using Rollos. And they are also a delicious choice for for these chocolate/caramel/sweet/salty/crunchy bites of goodness.  You can find Purple M&M’s at any Candy Store, Party City or online on a site like Amazon.  They are also in the special bags of Valentine’s M&M’s which are available in January and February.

Preparing Pretzels and Rollos

We like to use the square Pretzel Snaps when making Pretzel Bites but you can also use the round mini pretzels.  First, place 15-20 Pretzel Snaps on lined cookie sheet. Place a Rollo in the middle of each pretzel.  Carefully place the cookie sheet in a 250 degree oven for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes.  You want the candy to be melted enough to press the M&M’s into, but not so melted that the Rollo loses its’ shape and the chocolate starts dripping off of the pretzel.  The exact amount of time in the oven will depend on your particular oven so check them after 2 minutes.

Adding M&Ms to the Rollo

Finally, gently place Purple and Yellow M&M’s on the top of the Rollo.  You don’t need to press down on M&M because the melted Rollo will settle on its own.  The cookie sheet will be hot from the oven so if the Rollo’s keep melting, stick the cookie sheet in the freezer for 3-5 minutes after you have placed the M&M’s to stop the melting process.
