How to Make the Marshmallow Pops

Steps 1-2: Prepare your white chocolate candy melts for melting. We place the melting wafers in a microwave-safe measuring cup. (This amount of chocolate should be enough to cover 6-8 Marshmallow Pops.) Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds, check it, and give it a stir. Continue to microwave the chocolate, 10 seconds at a time, Alternating between heating and stirring. Once the chocolate is almost completely melted, give it a final stir to make sure it is completely smooth.

Step 3: We pour the melted white chocolate on a plate. It makes it alot easier to roll the marshmallow pop in the chocolate.
Step 4:  Before you start melting the chocolate you need to prepare the marshmallows. Marshmallows are like snowflakes … no two are the same, so you want to make sure you have like ones together. We sort through the bag of marshmallows and match them up in sets of threes. Now, after the chocolate is melted and on the plater, place the first marshmallow on the lollipop stick. Add the second marshmallow, and adjust them on the lollipop stick. Add the third marshmallow but only press the marshmallow halfway down onto the stick.  You do not want the stick to come out the top of the third marshmallow or the marshmallow will dry out.
Steps 5-6: Roll the marshmallows on the stick in the melted chocolate. If you have problems rolling the marshmallows in the chocolate, have a spoon handy and you can spoon the chocolate over the marshmallows and smooth out the chocolate on the marshmallows. Don’t forget to dip the top of the marshmallow into chocolate. Once the marshmallow pop is completely covered with chocolate, lightly tap the stick on the edge of the plate to get the excess chocolate off.  Give it a once over to make sure it is all covered and place it on a piece of parchment paper to cool and harden.

Step 7-8: Place 20-25 Bright White Candy Melts in a plastic sandwich bag and melt them in the microwave.   Once melted, we cut the tip off the bag. This is what you will use to drizzle to make the “Mummy Stripes”.

Step 9: Apply two Wilton Candy Eyeballs to the Mummy Marshmallow Pops.  We used a dot of the melted white chocolate on the back of the candy eye and then pressed it onto the hardened pop. Allow them to dry a bit before moving on to the next step so they don’t fall off the pop.
Step 10: Now use the plastic bag with the melted white chocolate to drizzle the “Mummy Stripes” over the Marshmallow Pop.
Step 11:  Allow the Marshmallow treats to cool and harden before serving.

Mummy Marshmallow Pops are marshmallows on a stick covered with chocolate. Tasty and spooky at the same time. And did we mention, great for a Halloween Party?

Ingredients

  • 30 Regular Sized Marshmallows
  • 10 Wilton Lollipop Sticks
  • 1 bag White Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • Monster Candy Eyes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marshmallows before melting the chocolate. Marshmallows are like snowflakes … no two are the same, so you want to make sure you have like ones together. We sort through the bag of marshmallows and match them up in sets of threes. Place the first marshmallow on the lollipop stick. Add the second marshmallow, and adjust them on the lollipop stick. Add the third marshmallow but only press the marshmallow halfway down onto the stick.  You do not want the stick to come out the top of the third marshmallow or the marshmallow will dry out.
  2. Prepare your white chocolate candy melts for melting. Place the bag of melting wafters on a microwave-safe bowl. (This amount of chocolate should be enough to cover 8-10 Marshmallow Pops.)
  3. Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds, check it, and give it a stir. Continue to microwave the chocolate, 10 seconds at a time, Alternating between heating and stirring. Once the chocolate is almost completely melted, give it a final stir to make sure it is completely smooth.
  4. Roll the marshmallows on the stick in the melted chocolate. If you have problems rolling the marshmallows in the chocolate, have a spoon handy and you can spoon the chocolate over the marshmallows and smooth out the chocolate on the marshmallows. Don’t forget to dip the top of the marshmallow into chocolate.
  5. Once the marshmallow pop is completely covered with chocolate, lightly tap the stick on the edge of the plate to get the excess chocolate off.  Give it a once over to make sure it is all covered and place it on a piece of parchment paper.  This will leave a “flat side” on the marshmallow, so if you want it rounded on all sides you will have to let them dry standing up and for that, you will need a form brick to put the sticks into.
  6. Before the chocolate has dried, apply two Wilton Candy Eyeballs to the Mummy Marshmallow Pops.  Or use a bit of the melted white chocolate in the plastic bag to affix the candy eyes to the marshmallow pop. Allow the eyes to dry before moving on to the next step.
  7. Place 20-25 Bright White Candy Melts in a plastic sandwich bag and melt them in the microwave.   Once melted, we cut the tip off the bag and drizzled the white candy over the marshmallow pops to make the "Mummy Stripes".
  8. Allow the Marshmallow treats to cool and harden before serving.
