We loved the way these Sesame Street Centerpieces turned out. Where we started with this idea, and where we ended up were light years apart. We almost gave up on the whole thing because the detail work on the characters was crazy. After I threw up myr hands in frustration, Laurie stepped up and got the job done. After we finished the characters, we thought of and rejected a lot of options to display them. We finally came up with the idea to attach them to hinged lid mason jars filled with color coordinating gumballs.
How to Make Sesame Street Centerpieces:
- Card Stock Paper
- Cricut Expressions Cutting Machine
- Sesame Street Friends Cricut Cartridge
- Mason Jars
- Glue dots
Sesame Street Character Cut-Outs: I made these using the Sesame Street Friends Cricut cartridge. The character cut-outs were 12″ tall.
Gumballs: We got two big bags of gumballs at Smart & Final. They looked really pretty in the Mason Jars but it was a LONG and tedious process to separate the gumballs by color. We used red for Elmo, blue for Cookie Monster, yellow & white for Big Bird, green for Oscar the Grouch and orange and blue for Bert & Ernie.
We attached the character cut-outs to the gumball filled Mason jars with glue dots and then displayed the Sesame Street Centerpieces on the outside tables on color coordinated table cloths.
