I don’t remember which one of us came up with this idea, but it was a good one. We served these Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches to the family and they were a huge hit. The chocolatey cookie with the creamy vanilla ice cream plus the fun add ins were an instant hit. I now know what I will be bring to every family barbecue this summer.
How to Make Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches
You will need:
Our Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches start with our yummy Red White and Blue Chocolate Cookies. These cookies are fudge-y and cake-y with a special crunch from the Red White and Blue M&M’s. They are the perfect vehicle for a yummy ice cream treat. You’ll find the recipe right here.
Add a generous spoonful of vanilla ice cream to the bottom of one of the cookies.
Add the second cookie to make an ice cream sandwich.
We pressed Red White and Blue sprinkles onto the ice cream for some patriotic color and flash. Place the Red White and Blue Ice Cream Sandwiches into the freezer to firm up for a couple of hours before serving.
