Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites
These adorable Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites are easy to make, taste great, and are a fun treat for a Mickey Mouse Party or an anytime dessert for a Mickey fan.
Oh my gosh, we love the way these Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites turned out. The salty pretzel, the sweet candy melt and the yummy chocolate crunch from the M&M’s … perfection! They are so cute and were so easy to make. They were the perfect extra treat for our Mickey Mouse Party but would also be a fun anytime dessert for the Mickey Mouse lover in your life.
Sorting the M&M’s
Step 1: Sort your M&M’s. You will need two sizes of M&M’s to make these adorable Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites – regular sized M&M’s and the M&M Mini’s. We made Red and Brown Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites but use any color that fits your party theme. The assembly process will be easier if you sort them by color though.
Creating the Pretzel Bites
Step 2: We always use Pretzel Snaps to make our pretzel bites. We like the visual contrast between the square pretzel and the round candy on top but you can definitely make these Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites with regular miniature pretzels. Start with a handful of pretzels on a paper plate.
Step 3: Now add the Wilton Bright White Candy Melt. We cut off the swirl on the top so the candy melt will lay flat on the pretzel. Then we place the bottom side up so you have a flat, even surface for your Mickey Mouse head. Stick the plate of pretzels in the microwave for approximately 50 seconds. You want the candy to be soft enough so you can press the M&M’s into the candy but not so melted that the candy is running off the pretzel and it loses its’ round shape. For us, that was 50 seconds with 9 pretzels on the plate.
Step 4: Now take a dark brown regular-sized M&M and place it towards the bottom of the softened Candy Melt as shown in the picture above. Remember to place the “M” side down!
Step 5: Now use two dark brown “mini” M&M’s as Mickey’s ears. That’s all there is to it. It couldn’t be easier!
Step 6: Our Mickey Mouse Party theme was red, black, and white so we only made Red and Black Mickey Mouse Pretzel Bites but these would also be very pretty if you used the M&M colors like blue, yellow, and green.

Easy to make and cute! Very tasty with the sweet and salt. Roughest part was finding the whole pretzels. I would make these again
Snyders also make a pretzel snap that looks just like this.
Hello, I love the Mickey Mouse pretzel bite design. I have 2 questions. Now I will be making them a few days before my son’s birthday party and wanted to know if you put them in the fridge to harden or placed them in a plastic container at room temp. Also I want to stack them one on top of the other with parchment paper in between. Do you think that would work? Thanks!
Hi Becky, thank you we love the Mickey Mouse pretzel bites too. You don’t need to put them in the refrigerator. If you use the candy melts, they harden very quickly. Storing them at room temperature is the best. If you put them in the refrigerator, you run the risk of the M&Ms sweating. Then they become discolored and dull. I am sure the parchment paper will work work great.
Thanks so much!
Hello, I will be making these for my son’s birthday party in advance. Now I was wondering if I can store them one on top of the other in a plastic container? Also do you place them in the refrigerator to harden?
Hi Rebecca – that will not be a problem. They store really well. And we usually do not put them in the refrigerator to harden. Sometimes M&M’s cloud up in the refrigerator.
Does anyone know if you could make the Mickey Mouse Pretzel treats shown and sell them or would they fall under a violation of DIsney’s Copyright? I have a small business and was asked by a client about making Disney theme items and I am looking for some ideas that I could leagally make and sell. Thanks
Hi Meryem, I am not sure, but I don’t think you are allowed to.
If you market them as Disney Mickey Mouse treats, you could get in trouble, but if you’re just selling M@M mouse head treats, you’d be fine. Disney can’t sue you for selling M@Ms stuck to a pretzel
Hello Laurie!
I LOVED your Mickey Mouse pretezel bites. Would you mind if I included them in a BuzzFeed post I am working on? I will need your permission to use one of your pictures. I will link your blog in the post. Let me know as soon as you can. Thanks!
Hi Brittney! We’d love to be included!!! Thanks.
How far in advance can these be made?
Hi Kelly! If you have a good plastic container, they will keep for quite awhile. We’ve had them setting on the counter in a Tupperware container for weeks and they still taste great!
Thanks for this!! Just made a batch for my son’s first birthday party, but using red candy melts (as I had some I wanted to use up) with brown and yellow m&ms.
FWIW, if this helps anyone going forward — I didn’t trim the peak off the melts. I put them on the pretzels point-down (the point rested in one of the holes, so it was a little off-center) and microwaved on a plate 10 at a time for 30s. Took out, gently smooshed the melts down to cling to the pretzels and also centered as I did, returned to microwave for 10s more, then added the m&ms as instructed.
One more thing – my supermarket didn’t have the minis in bags in the candy aisle, but did have them in little tubes at checkout (by the gum, mints, etc.). I bought four tubes and got about 60 pretzel bites (using just brown and yellow).
Hello! Where did you find the Wilton Bright Candy? Thanks 🙂
Hi Sandy – We usually buy them at Michaels. But we also seen them at Walmart and Amazon.com too.
They make black M&M’s?
Hi Haley, we used the brown M&M’s from the standard bag. They are so dark they look black.
Hello, where do you find pretzel snaps? I live I Fresno, CA.
Hi Pat. They are from Hanover Pretzels and we’ve found them at our local Albertson’s and at Target.
