How to Make the Cookies
Step 1: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add the mashed bananas can continue mixing. Mix in the baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Mix well. Add the flour and mix until combined.
Step 2: This is a wet dough so we used a spoon to drop approximately 2 oz. of dough onto the cookie sheet as shown above.

I made these cookies for our county fair and won a blue ribbon. My family all thought they were delicious too 🙂
WHAT?!! That is amazing! We are going to rename these cookies The Blue Ribbon Award Winning Banana Spice Cookies!! P.S. What was the prize?
Just baked a batch of these today. They are delicious! My daughter said she could eat ten of them lol! Tastes just like banana bread!
Right? They are delicious!
Do you use whole cloves or ground cloves?
Ground cloves. Thanks for pointing this out, I’m going to update the recipe.
Made these today, they did not spread out. They look like drop biscuits. They are moist and have a good flavor. Will keep making them.
I love the flavor of these. How would one go about storing the cookies & Icing?
Hi! We are so glad you liked the recipe. We layer them in an airtight container with a layer of aluminum foil or waxed paper between the layers of cookies to protect the frosting.
Do you recommend storing them in the fridge or are they okay at room temperature? Also, they are delicious!
Hi! So glad you liked them! Yes, they need to be stored in the refrigerator because of the Cream Cheese in the frosting.
My cookies were delicious, but came out kinda flat
I made these today! I’m not sure if the cookie is supposed to be so light and airy, almost. I was hoping for a more dense and moist cookie… BUTTTT we all LOVE these! My husband can’t stay away from them. The icing is one of the best icing recipes I have ever tried. AMAZING!
I would love to make these! Are the bananas over ripe or just ripe bananas? I usually make banana bread with “brown” bananas that are over ripe so I just want to be sure!
Hi April – yes, Bananas with some brown on them are best.
Banana cookies look soo good!! Why won’t it save to my pinterest? or print?
All fixed. You should be able to print the recipe now.
Made these today since I didn’t want some over prior bananas to go to waste. All I can say is YUM! Moist and delicious. The brown sugar cream cheese icing was a great compliment. I will be making these again!
Yay! We are so glad you liked them!
